Dr. Hashem, a native of Lebanon, has his Ph.D. in Communication, Florida State University.
Teaching: He Taught at Florida State University, the University of Toledo & Ohio Governor’s Gifted Institute, Fort Hays State University, and the American University of Sharjah. Interpersonal, Intercultural, Persuasive, and Organizational Communication Courses were his favourite topics as well as Leadership, Public Speaking and Media Presentation Skills. He peer-reviewed journal articles for the Kuwaiti Journal as well as the Qatari National Research Fund grant applications. When he is not teaching, he is either doing research or enjoys playing tennis, card games, exercising, and reading.
Administration: He served as chair/head of two-three departments, Vice President & President of the Kansas Speech Communication Association, Director of Graduate Studies of Communication, Executive Editor of the Global Communication Journal-Arabian Edition, and chair of numerous conference panels of discussion, etc.

Campus Organizations: Chaired two Departments, Communication Club, Faculty Senate, Faculty Personnel and Numerous Committees.

Training & Consulting Activities: NATO Defense College (six times), Italian International Institute, UAE Government Officials, CEOs at Rasmala Financial Organization, And several other clubs, churches, and organizations.
Currently: he has an office in Sylvania Township, Ohio from which he provides Business and Professional Communication advice concerning leadership & entrepreneurial skills, media verbal & nonverbal presentational skills, effective public speaking skills as well as other related issues. Furthermore, Dr. Hashem provides training/help to Ph.D. & MA/MS students, especially in planning and writing their final theses and/or dissertations in several fields and mainly in communication, which is basic to most other studies.
